The magical places of Vulcano
If you are in Vulcano, an experience not to be missed is a visit to the mud pool. The natural lake of thermal mud can be defined as a real open-air wellness centre, where body and soul benefit from the thermal waters and sulphurous vapours that arise spontaneously from the heart of the island's volcanic land.
Like all the Aeolian Islands, Vulcano is studded with marvellous beaches and rocky foreshortenings where you can reach by land or sea and take a dip in pristine waters. The volcanic origin of the island's dark rocks creates a wonderful contrast to the cobalt blue sea. Among the most characteristic seaside areas of Vulcano are the Spiaggia delle Acque Calde, the Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere and the Spiaggia del Gelso (Cannitello and the Spiaggia dell'Asino). The Spiaggia delle Acque Calde, reachable by direct and private access for the guests of the Eros Hotel, is unique in its kind thanks to the presence of fumaroles, which come out from the rock faults and heat the water.
Another unique place in the world, together with the Grotta del Cavallo, is the Piscina di Venere, one of the most suggestive landscapes of Vulcano. Also called Bagno delle Vergini, it is located in the western part of the island. These are shallow tufa and basalt basins, bathed by a crystalline sea, with turquoise reflections. A natural paradise, reachable by boat, which resembles the shape of an amphitheatre, where you can dive into pampering yourself with the freshness of the sea, putting aside every thought.
